Mar Groot is a professionally trained hair + makeup artist, photographer and creative mentor. She founded and built the original creative collective and bridal beauty team in western Canada - famously known as ma-luxe studios - which launched in 2012 and to this day - is still credited and referenced as being a brand of influence.
Mar and her team of passionate young creators won awards for their bridal and beauty work throughout Canada - including a Canadian Wedding Award for Best Bridal Suite. Their work was published in numerous print publications - from Vogue to Wedluxe to Martha Stewart Weddings. As a creative team, ma-luxe was sponsored by brands like Lancome Canada, Joe Fresh and Guess, as well as Kleinfeld’s Canada, before content creation ever officially existed.
Mar Groot would go on to establish herself as a reputable professional photographer and expert brand developer. She has helped to build and bolster the careers of countless beauty professionals and creative teams all across Canada. As an expert in beauty - her voice has been featured editorially in The Globe & Mail, Huffington Post, and West Coast Weddings.
Throughout her decades’ long career - Mar has felt a deep, insatiable need to create and connect with others. Her love-language is reminding every creator of their inherent power, and her dedication to craft has made her an unstoppable force in the beauty industry.
